COVID-19 Office Changes

This is an unprecedented time. In order to decrease the risk of spreading COVID-19 among our patients, we have made the following changes:

1) We still have appointments and "see" patients - but "virtually" by phone or video link.

2) Do NOT come to the office unless we have specifically arranged for you to do so.

3) Contact the office by phone or use the "Request a Return Phone Call" page on this website.

4) Avoid the Emergency Dept for non-emergent issues. If at all possible, call us first.

5) Follow the Public Health advice on slowing the spread of COVID-19 - hand washing, distancing, coughing, etc.

We are still booking appointments but rather than having most patients come to the office, we are having "virtual" appointments, using the phone or a video link.

DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT unless we have specifically told you to come.  If we need to see you in person, we will make arrangements with you by phone or secure email.

If you already have an appointment booked from weeks ago, we will call you the day before and see if your medical concern can be dealt with by phone.  We will do our best to contact you before your appointment, but if you haven't heard from us before your appointment, don't come to the office. We'll be in touch as soon as we can.

If your medical concern cannot be resolved on the phone or by video link, you will be seen in the office.   When you come to the office, you will be screened through the glass window by Charlotte and then seen by a physician who may be wearing a mask, face shield and gloves.

If you need to be assessed for fever or cough, you will be assessed at your car in the parking lot. We will let you know if we think this is the best way to assess you.

If you already have a booked appointment, please do not call the office as our lines are very busy.  We will call you before your appointment. We're trying to keep our incoming lines open for people who need to make new appointments. You can also communicate with us by leaving a message on the "Contact" page of this website.

We CANNOT do COVID-19 testing at our office.  At this time, Public Health does all testing. To contact Hastings Prince Edward Public Health call 613-966-5500.

If you are concerned that you have been exposed,  here is the Government of Ontario “Assessment Tool” for guidance.

In the meantime, please wash your hands frequently, cough into your elbow, try to avoid touching your face, and when you are out and about, try to stay at least a meter from other people.

We will try to keep this page up-to-date with office changes as best we can.
